Heads & Tails

< Back to projects

Heads & Tails is a refined cocktail bar in West Hampstead. The bar was formerly known as Lately’s which operated for over 40 years, however, with the new wave of international crowds in London, the team behind the Kilburn Ironworks have taken over the lease to lead the charge on a much needed makeover. This is the second project that Collective Works have undertaken for this client, as hospitality design is a key area of focus for the studio. The project was delivered in collaboration with the prestigious KKD studio to deliver an appealing interior.

Situated within a Conservation Area, Collective Works carefully navigated the project through the planning process and subsequently on site to be built. This was done from developing the proposal from the conceptual stage, through developed design, on to resolving the technical details to satisfy the requirements of building control and finally on-site supervision.

This split level venue offers two distinct offerings with a bright naturally lit ground floor and a more intimate basement level with cocktail offerings to match. The garden is formed by a new stepped level outdoor serving area that will be connected with the ‘sunken garden’, an outdoor seating area at basement level. It’s a classy establishment that is perfect for a catch-up with friends or for a larger reservation over some perfectly curated cocktails.
