Holland Park Timber Pavilions

< Back to projects

In 2014 we carried out an extensive feasibility study for a set of Glass & Timber Pavilions to provide ancillary accommodation for the renowned Opera Holland Park. Upon appointment we carried out a full site survey and began a detailed briefing process with the team at Opera Holland Park.

We established a set of clear design principles before creating a sketch scheme which we presented to the client, Councillors, Parks team and Friends of Holland Park. The response was enthusiastic and feedback was taken on board which we used to further develop the scheme before a second and third presentation to the group.

Over the course of this engagement we utilised comparative renders, physical models, material samples
and photo overlays to ensure the best understanding possible. This engagement process opened an important dialogue with the park’s users and established key design principles for the project. Additionally dialogues with the Parks team helped establish the benefit of combining the Pavilions project with the adjacent capital projects.
