Piece by piece – Planning permission for phase 3
< Back to InsightsThis month we were delighted to get planning permission for a loft conversion in North London. Particularly so, because we know this house very well. This project has been a phased renovation, developing alongside the needs of our client.

In 2016 we helped our clients with a rear extension that prioritised natural materials – timber, red bricks and clay plastered walls – to bring a feeling of warmth to the large open plan living space and kitchen. Red Brick extension is a semi detatched family home in North London.
Last year, Siri did a colour workshop with the couple, emboldening them to bring colour into their previously white-walled home. A palette of calm pastel shades now unites the rooms. After redectoration, our client commented that “I can’t believe we waited so long to do this. It has completely transformed the way our home feels.” The colours emphasise the natural materials, elevating the whole.
Now, to complete their mulitphased renovation, we are planning a loft extension to add a large master bedroom, bathroom, storage and designated space for the treadmill.
It’s a pleasure to develop these long term relationships with our clients, making changes at the pace that suits them. We love seeing their homes develop through a phased renovation approac, to be more than just somewhere to live. To places that are personal to them, help them to live more fully and to feel embraced by their home.
