A Regenerative Retreat
< Back to ProjectsOur client had a parcel of land that was leftover after the development of housing in the south of England. It had been the site of the construction depot, and they approached us to help develop a scheme that would have a positive impact on the environment and the community. Together we created a business case and a plan for a Regenerative Retreat.
A regenerative site for a holistic experience
We developed a scheme for centre that will host retreats, classes and events that promote health and wellbeing. The regenerative retreat will seize the opportunity to enhance the site visually and by nurturing a rich natural habitat of native hedges, trees and meadows. At the centre of the site will be a community hub and wild swimming pond, surrounded by a richly biodiverse landscape. Guests will stay in thoughtfully appointed timber cabins during their stay , set back from, but overlooking the lake. They will have privacy, and space for reflection, as well as felling connected to others on the retreat, and the landscape. They will have the opportunity to spend time in nature, sharing organic, locally sourced meals, and participating in varied group and wellbeing activities.
Through carefully designed spaces that harmonise with the surrounding landscape, it is our aim that guests will find solace, rejuvenation and inner peace.

Bringing nature and community together in a sustainable business
The scheme will restore a rich biodiverse landscape and be a sanctuary that fosters wellness and personal growth. It will become an oasis for wildlife, but also a destination for the local community, as a stop off for cyclists, walkers and nature lovers. It will encourage sustainable tourism, but also cater to the community, providing wild swimming, yoga classes, growing and cooking classes for local needs
