Decorating with earth tones

Her advice?: “Decorating With Earth Tones for 2027 Will Need You to Go Bolder and Out of Your Comfort Zone.”
That is exactly what we have done at Bayt House. Not to be ‘on trend’ but because our client asked for them. We did a colour workshop together. The warmth of these vibrant, yet earthy tones felt appropriate to our clients and their Kerala and Tamil Nadu heritage. Using different terracotta tones together creates depth and richness, without becoming a muted or neutral backdrop. We embraced terracotta shades throughout the house to connect the spaces.
In the bathroom, we used several complementary tones including two types of tile and coloured grout as part of the overall design.
“Don’t be afraid to commit to them — be brave, have fun,” says Jenny Gnadl, Associate at Collective Works and project lead at Bayt House. “Use several complementary tones rather than one uniform color to create a much richer and sophisticated palette.”
